Newsletter: October 2015

25.5     October 2015

Following this year’s two panel events, HOW I READ YOUR SCRIPT and RE-WRITES: HOW NOT TO WASTE YOUR TIME, the Forum is planning another for Spring 2015.  Below are some suggested topics.  Please let us know your degree of interest in each of them, from 1 to 3 (little to lots).  And feel free to add your own for our consideration.

1. WORKING TOGETHER: You and the set designer. You and the sound designer.  You and the costume designer.

2. RESEARCH: How? How much?  How to use it?

3. ADAPTATIONS: What’s legal?  Better dead or alive?  How much is yours, how much is his/hers?

4. THE MUSICAL! What’s it take to do it.

5. PLAYS FOR YOUNG AUDIENCES: The commission, the writing, the production.

6. WRITING THE SYNOPSIS: A few hundred words to say it all.

7. HOW TO WRITE A PLAY while raising a family and making a livelihood.

8. SHORT ISN’T EASY: Writing the one-minute, ten-minute, one-act play.

9. BRAVE NEW WORLD: Meet some of the new theatres in town.

10. THE FIRST DRAFT: From the idea to writing “curtain” for the first time.

11. SELF-PRODUCTION: The Fringe and beyond.

12. THE WIDENING WORLD OF THE INTERNET: making it work for you – for research, marketing, submissions, “connections”.

Mark each of them 1, 2, or 3.  Push your “return” button.  Press “return” button.  Thank you.
